Well just so you all know...I didn't die. A friend needed to borrow my computer for a little while, so I didn't have access to my pictures or the internet. But I'm back and ready to post lots of pictures.
My friend Missy had an interview in Seattle over Spring Break, so I thought it would be fun to drive up there and make a little Spring Break trip out of it. We left Thursday and drove up to Seattle. I was ready to be bored out of my mind during the trip, but luckily Missy's mom made us a care package. She had a package for us to open every hour. And I'm telling you...the trip goes so much faster when you have something to look forward to every hour. So thanks Jane...that was great.
Missy's trainer from the mission was from Seattle and they allowed us to chill at their home. Friday morning Missy ran off to her interview and I planned out the afternoon. Once she got back from her interview we headed off to explore what Seattle had to offer. We first headed down Pike's Market. I didn't know really what to expect from the Market but I sure did enjoy it. We stopped by one of the fruit markets and had the best raspberries and peaches ever. They were so good I just had to buy some. The experience of the afternoon came when Missy and I tried to buy salmon. I don't eat fish so I really wouldn't have that much experience purchasing fish from a market. Well we learned that it was cheaper to buy a whole salmon than to purchase it already cut. Plus the market fillet it for free for us! It was such a great deal. That night we headed off to a nice seafood restaurant down on the pier. Like I said, I don't like fish and rarely eat seafood. The only seafood I really eat is shrimp, so I figured that I would just order that. But get this...the restaurant didn't have one item on there that had shrimp on it. So I didn't know what I was going to do. I heard that salmon was very mild so I ordered that. I must admit that I LOVED what I ate. It was so good!Saturday morning we got up and headed back home, stopping in Boise on the way. It was such a quick trip...but I enjoyed it all the same. I definitely need to get back and see what else there is to see in Seattle. I know in our short time we barely scratched the surface. I want to say thank you to the Richards family for letting us stay with them. They were great hosts.
